[22.4.08] Leviticus 19:28
You shall not make any cuts in your body for the dead nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the LORD.
What does that say? Read it again. If you didn't notice, GOD even clarifies who he is to have the authority to command this. I just can't understand consciously knowing that something goes against your GOD's will, and still wanting to do it. It's disgusting.
It clearly says You shall NOT [...] make ANY tattoo marks on yourselves: I AM THE LORD. [Capitalized, of course, for clarity.]
And while I'm at it: Exodus 20:1–2
And God spoke all these words:
I am the LORD your GOD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
Hey, kids.... For any innocent bystanders out there, there is more to this in the comments. If you're interested, read them, or even add some of your own thoughts. :)

awww, i felt bad you had no comments, and RAE has like...a million.
i don't have a million comments. lol.
I think, if God commands something, there's probably a good reason for it. Take, "Do Not Commit Adultery" as an example. Say you're married, but then you decide it'd be fun to have kids with someone else on the side. Let's say your spouse excepts that you wronged him/her (as long as you don't do it again), you'd still have to deal with the consequences. You'd always have that burden for the rest of your life. You'd probably have to pay welfare for the child, and your relationship with your spouse would be damaged forever. It would suck. Well, I think it's that way for every single commandment God has given us. They're commanded for our benefit, not because God is bossy.
Let's look at it another way. You're always telling me to pray, and try to make sure I'm doing God's will. Well this is something he COMMANDED, we KNOW it's his will. If you want to follow his will one way, you should do the others, right?
There definitely is consequences to cutting yourself, or getting tattoos. God wouldn't command it if he didn't have in mind the best for his children.
I can't remember ever winning an argument... or discussion in my life. But please, hear me out, just this once.
Just because everyone sins, does it make it right? Jesus wants us to live for Him... We should at least try follow His will.
also, the only thing i was trying to point out was this-
brian-I just can't understand consciously knowing that something goes against your GOD's will, and still wanting to do it. It's disgusting.-
i don't think just using the example of cutting or tattoos was the right way to go. all sin is equal. it's ALL disgusting. so if, and notice the if, getting a tattoo or cutting is a sin, believe me it's not any worse then the times you covet, or lie to your parents, or disrespect your elders, or forget to love your bother. i am not at all trying to pitch the everyone does it so it doesn't matter anyway, but bare in mind that you and i are no better then the worst criminal sitting in prison right now.

lol, ok so i didn't really count, but that's how it looks so far
Sin... Is disobedience to God, correct? So, if you don't follow His commands, you're technically sinning, whether you're cursed by the law or not. Really, man.
Course... I'm not that intelligent, s, quoting and article on All About God... [I'd reccomend reading the whole thing...)
Sin, as defined in the original translations of the Bible, means "to miss the mark." The mark, in this case, is the standard of perfection established by God and evidenced by Jesus.
And then of course, you have the best argument of all—ALL SIN IS EQUAL. So, according to what you said... Getting a tattoo is just as sinful as killing your parents. No better no worse.
